This week, I have 3 resources and a quote that made me think this week. Let’s get into it:
3 resources:
1 – Earlier this month, an AI investor and founder made a post on X about AI and the world of work…and the internet went into pandemonium. So I had to read it.
Truth be told, I was alarmed when I first read it. I don’t get alarmed easily.
However, once I stopped responding to the emotions the post was strategically designed to elicit, I began to see the cracks. So many cracks!
So I made a podcast episode out of it. You can listen to it on Apple Podcasts or watch it on YouTube.
2 – Ever wonder how your PhD skills “line up” with job titles in non-academic jobs? This week, Dr. Jevin Lortie created a handy infographic that I think every PhD considering work outside academia should download, screenshot, or save.
The infographic focused heavily on science PhDs, but I think it will inspire PhDs of all backgrounds.
3 – Can dating apps double as networking apps? According to a new Business Insider article, people looking for work are now using dating apps to network for new jobs. I was a little taken aback but hey, an opportunity to network is an opportunity to network, right? Right?
The quote:
The real benefit of having goals is what you become on the way to reaching them.
Zig Ziglar.
(Word!)
That’s all for this week.
Have you read Navigating the P.I.V.O.T? If you have, it would mean the world to me if you could leave me a rating and review on Amazon. This helps people who are making a decision to get the book make an informed one. Thank you.
